Inokim Scooter Prices
Let’s address the elephant in the room. If you have googled Inokim electric scooters, you have noticed that they are not in the budget section as far as price goes. Especially if you are comparing them performance-wise with other e-scooters, watts vs watts, speed vs speed, range vs range, and so on. You might think: “Hey, why are they so expensive?” If you are looking to buy the cheapest e-scooter you can get your hands on, Inokim is not for you. But if you instead are looking for the best e-scooter you can get your hands on, the Inokim will be one of, if not the only option, out there now. The attention to detail and high quality is yet to be surpassed by their competition.
In the long run, they will last better as all components are of higher and thus more expensive quality. You get what you pay for, is the old adage that very much applies to the Inokim brand.
If you, for example, compare an Inokim with one of the most popular e-scooters on the market, the Xiaomi M365, you can see the difference. Although a very popular and price worthy option, the Xiaomi does have some issues as reported by daily users. The folding mechanism is one such problem. It contains a latch located at the front of the column which has been known to break and could lead to a potentially very dangerous situation if it happens whilst riding. The first latches were made of aluminum and have since been upgraded to a ferromagnetic version, supposedly stronger than the aluminum one. But even so, some recommend upgrading to a heavy-duty latch that can be ordered online to be sure. That is just one example of why some scooters cost more than others.
Many Xiaomi owners also report a slightly loose or wobbly stem. Some more than others, and yet again, there are suggestions for different DIY fixes to this issue.
Another very popular lightweight e-scooter is the Ninebot. In this case, there are quite a lot of owners frustrated with the control board which connects all the signals like headlights, brake, throttle, battery, hub motor, taillights. The unit brakes down and as soon as you turn on the headlight, the scooter can’t run uphill at all. Eventually, the control board dies and shuts down. And you have to replace the control board, which then renders a lot of new issues and problems as there are two versions available and further problems have been reported with them as well. These are things to almost be expected when you pay 500 USD for an e-scooter. Therein lies the answer to why some scooters are so cheap.
